We're really excited to announce that after two whole years out of my motherland (thanks to rona) we will finally be returning! Top of the list is to of course hug my family and friends (not to mention eating as much Marmite as I can get my grubby paws on). But after that, I'm planning on showing Tamás the best of the UK - and what better place to start than with festivals?

8 London Festivals To Go To In 2022

After a couple of years of halted plans and cancelled festivities, we can confidently state that 2022 is the year that London is opening back up the masses! We have all been through periods of inactivity and isolation since 2020 in one way or another, and it's time to shake off those cobwebs and start interacting with humanity again in the form of some amazing festivals.

Held in Olympia London (also known as Olympia Exhibition Centre) in November, Vegfest is an amazing event for anybody who loves both delicious food and animals! A plethora of cool vendors have stands, and you can spend all day stuffing yourself with your favourite kind of food, picking up some cruelty-free cosmetics, trying out yoga and so much more! Lots of people forget about food festivals when planning their summers, but they can be just as fun as music festivals, if not more!

Risen is a one day electronic music festival that takes place around Hackney Wick in April. Advertised as the 'divine feminine', the festival's line-up is solely made up of female, trans, and non-binary artists.

Notting Hill Carnival

One of Europe's biggest and brightest street festivals, the carnival on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday (8th in 2022) is a riot of sound and colour. Key streets of W10 and W11 are awash with Caribbean culture as everyone comes out to party.

This festival is South London's answer to all of your indie, post punk, techno, electronic and jazz needs! For the first time ever, the festival will be running across two days this year rather than just one.

City Splash

City Splash is a festival in South London that celebrates everything to do with reggae, dancehall and afrobeat's music. It is a wonderful showcase of Caribbean and African music and how it intersects with British culture.

The Mighty Hoopla festival is one of London's biggest and best LGBTQ+ focused festivals, presenting a weekend of safe and inclusive festival fun with a musical lineup to beat the best of them!

This three day event in Peckham Rye Park was one of the first festivals to pop back up after the worst of the rona restrictions, and it certainly came back with a bang! If you love everything to do with underground electronic music, house and techno, then this is the festival for you. In 2022, it is returning with long term collaborators Horse Meat Disco and Rhythm Section to ensure that you have the best weekend ever.
