I should probably admit upfront that I didn’t come to Phuket, Thailand with wildly romantic expectations. I was simply looking for a hotel with two non-negotiables: a proper sea view and a private pool. That’s it. Nothing complicated. I’d spent days scrolling past places that claimed to have both, but somehow didn’t convince me, either the pool was basically a bathtub or the “sea view” was actually a slice of blue if you leaned out of the balcony at a 45-degree angle.
Then I stumbled across Sinae Phuket, tucked away on Koh Siray, a peaceful location on the east coast of Phuket. I hadn’t even planned on staying in this part of the island, but something about the place felt different, quieter, calmer, slightly removed from the chaos of western Phuket. I figured it would at least give me the views I was chasing.
Spoiler: it gave me far more.
The moment I entered my villa, I had one of those silent “ohhhh okay, this is nice” reactions. The entire front opened to a vast stretch of the Andaman Sea, not a “pretend view”, not a partial view, a complete, sweeping, postcard-level sea view. And the private pool? Let’s just say I ended up spending half my time sitting in it, staring at the water like a meditative lizard.

First Impressions: The Villa That Made Me Stop Mid-Sentence

The place just had a softness to it. Quiet pathways, small pockets of greenery, and villas spaced far enough apart that you never feel watched or overheard. Everything in the villa felt intentionally calming, almost as if the property was trying to gently force me to relax, and honestly… it worked.
Now, here’s the funny part. I wasn’t here for a honeymoon (or anything close to that, let’s not open that chapter, but while wandering around on my first afternoon, I came across their honeymoon setups. Think subtle romantic touches, not cheesy towel swans with sunglasses. And suddenly it clicked why people rave about this place for romantic getaways.
A Surprise Discovery: This Place is Basically Made for Honeymooners

Even I, someone who travels solo very much, could see how naturally romantic it is. Not over-the-top, not trying too hard, just private villas, peaceful surroundings, and those views that make you want to whisper instead of talk. If someone asked me for a honeymoon hotel in Phuket, I’d point them here without hesitation. You can check out their honeymoon packages as well; it seems like quite a good deal.
Let’s talk breakfast. Usually, hotel breakfasts feel like a battlefield: people hovering over buffet trays, someone loudly asking where the yoghurt is, tables filling up like it’s a game of musical chairs. But mornings at Sinae Phuket are the exact opposite. They are slow. Calm. Almost therapeutic: their breakfast is served at their lower-floor restaurant, Sai Bistro & Bar.
There’s a nice mix of international dishes and Thai favourites, plus fresh fruit and pastries that are dangerously easy to overeat. The sitting was quite regular, not so much fancy, but the breakfast items were enough to have a full spectrum of breakfast: decent vegan options, various pastries, and food from different parts of Thailand. Overall, I will rate them 4.5/5
If I had to pick one moment where I felt my brain completely shut off (in a good way), it was inside Sindh Spa. I booked their Thai herbal compress treatment on a whim and walked into a dimly lit room that smelled like warmth and calmness had been bottled.
The whole experience felt peaceful from start to finish, no loud chatter, no mechanical routine. Just a genuinely grounding session that left me feeling lighter and strangely content.
I was also told that the ingredients they use are of premium quality, primarily sourced sustainably, and that the coffee and coconut used for their scrubs are produced from used coffee beans and drained coconuts.
One afternoon, I wandered up to Hilltop Café. You can use the app to book a buggy to take you up there, but I decided to walk because I wanted to see the horizon rising with every step. It’s a bit of a climb, but honestly, that slow ascent made the final view feel even more cinematic. The café sits exactly where its name suggests, right on the hilltop, with an open, breezy vibe and a full sea view that borders on unreal. It’s the kind of panorama that makes you pause mid-sentence, whether you want to or not.

A fun little surprise: Hilltop Café serves Starbucks coffee. Not an official Starbucks café, but they’ve partnered with Starbucks to bring the coffee here, which I think is a brilliant move. Great views and familiar coffee? That’s a win. The drink I ordered was genuinely good, and at that point, what more did I even need? If you’re reading this and planning a trip to Phuket, trust me, this is one of those cafés you absolutely need to check out. I ordered some food as well, and while it wasn’t anything extraordinary, I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt because almost every table was complete and the staff were rushing around trying to keep up. It felt like one of those moments where the view carries the experience more than the plate does, and honestly, I didn’t mind at all.
What I appreciated most about Sinae Phuket was how naturally everything flowed. I never felt crowded, never felt rushed, and never felt like the resort was trying to “sell” me an experience. The privacy, the views, the slow pace, it all worked together.
However, I suggest that the hotel should improve:
And that’s coming from someone who usually gets restless quickly.
When I think back on my three days at Sinae Phuket, it’s not a single dramatic moment that stands out; it’s the overall feeling. The calm mornings, the dips in the private pool, the quiet paths, the sea that seemed to change colour every hour… all of it blended into an experience that settled into my memory in a very gentle way.
I came here looking for a hotel with a view and a pool. I left feeling like I’d been given a much-needed pause, a small break from the noise of everyday life.
Whether you’re a couple on a honeymoon, a solo traveller needing a reset, or someone who just wants privacy and a sea view without the chaos, Sinae Phuket fits the mood perfectly.

However, I suggest that the hotel should improve:
- Improve their capacity at the spa: It's relatively small, with only two private rooms, making it difficult to book at your preferred time.
- Improve their international food quality, especially French cuisine; they say it is good, but it can be very much improved.
- A more dedicated concierge section: They do have a section, but it needs to be handled more professionally, aligning with their five-star credentials.
- They should have more restaurants; overall, they only have one dining option, which is Sai bistro & bar, which serves a good Thai food menu, but still struggles on the International menu.
And that’s coming from someone who usually gets restless quickly.
